Coronavirus lockdowns have disrupted cross-border trade and casted doubts on the resilience of global supply chains.
Shortages of essential medical supplies during the pandemic have led the government to rethink protectionism policies, such as erection of trade barriers, to bring manufacturing of essential items home.
While there are some signs that trade flows are rebounding rapidly, there are other signs that indicate that global trade patterns will never be the same.
