Man dies in altercation after being restrained for snapping upskirt photos

Mr Andrew Ho, who suffered from a heart condition that prevented him from doing rigorous exercise, was trying to take upskirt photos at Little India MRT when he was spotted and given chase to. The five members of the public chasing him managed to restrain him and the police arrived ten minutes later. The police first found Mr Ho lying face down in vomit, and worse still, later discovered that Mr Ho no longer had a pulse.

This case was initially classified as an unnatural death late last year, but forensics recently showed that Mr Ho’s death was caused by a disease of the heart muscle which made the heart slow to recover from its contraction in time for the next one. This was exacerbated by the stress of being chased as well as the subsequent restraint.

The five who held on to his limbs and mobile phone to restrain him had not thought to check up on him despite warning signs because they thought that he was just putting on an act for the police. No excessive force had been used, nonetheless.

Prosecution has announced that they will not take action against the five.
