Is Environmentalism for the privileged youth?

10 years left to stop the irreversible effects of climate change on the world. It is unquestionable that climate change is important and needs to be dealt with however, is this movement inclusive enough?

This question stems from the fact that sustainable products and food tend to be more expensive than the norm, disincentivising those who want to support sustainable efforts but cannot afford to do so. A general observation is that environmental activists tend to be university-educated or educated overseas. With this fact, does this suggest the environmental movement to unconsciously give off an ‘elite’ vibe?
