Bobby Kotick Saved by Deus Ex Machina

In a sudden turn of events, Microsoft has announced their plans to acquire Activision Blizzard (AB) for $68.7 billion. This effectively saves the company and legendary super villain and CEO of AB, Bobby Kotick, from being obliterated by investor coercion.

AB has been on a decline since Kotick’s controversial reign was exposed to the public. Under Kotick’s watchful eye, AB fostered a “frat boy” culture, which subjected female employees to discrimination and sexual harassment.

In response to the exposé on Kotick, AB was struck by an $18 million lawsuit by California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing. Furthermore, AB employees have been staging walkouts and calling for Kotick to be dethroned.

However, Microsoft’s purchase of AB will ensure that Kotick will continue to rule as CEO. What’s more, the deal will make AB the third-largest gaming company by revenue.
