Convicted Felon of 21 Years Finally Caught
Caron McBride was charged with one count of felony embezzlement in March of 2000. During the next 21 years of her life, McBride moved out of her home state, Oklahoma, to Texas, where she claims she was “let go from different jobs” thanks to the felony charge under her name.
The crime? Forgetting to return “Sabrina the Teenage Witch”, a VHS tape borrowed from a store called Movie Place back in 1999.
For the past 21 years, McBride had no clue she was a felon. She only found out when attempting to change her name after her marriage. “I thought I was gonna have a heart attack” she said.
McBride says she has no memory of renting such a movie. Instead, she protests that her former roommate, who had two kids at the time, was more likely to rent the movie.
Luckily for her, McBride’s charges were dismissed by the Cleveland County District Attorney’s Office and she is even able to legally clear her record by erasing this charge.
