Coronavirus has halted many business operations in different sectors, such as the aviation and manufacturing industry. As a result, there is a massive reduction in global emissions. However, this is contrary to another sector where energy usage has skyrocketed – the IT sector.

Most of the energy that comes from the IT sector arose from powering internet servers at the data centers that will account for up to 6% of global carbon dioxide emissions by 2030.
