Win-win? Earn money while wrecking noobs in video games
Spending too many hours on video games isn’t that bad. If you’re good enough, you can earn money by doing it – by playing someone else’s account to increase their rank.
Most games are of a competitive nature and rank your account by skill level, or your “elo”. It’s like a medal to your name. The better you are, the shinier your medal, and the cooler you look. And as it turns out, people do pay money to look better.
Though its frowned upon by the gaming community, it’s still a way for skilled players to bring in money. It’s kind of like being a Grabfood deliverer. You get paid X amount for a job, and how much you earn depends on how many jobs you take on (and how good you are.)
Let’s not forget get that emotional high when you squash your opponents. You can’t really get that in an office job.
